Taking on the Leadership Challenge

Taking on the Leadership Challenge
More than 150 librarians and students—plus a few non-librarians—attended "The Leadership Challenge," a forum organized by the University of the Philippines Library Science Alumni Association, which was held at the 26th Manila International Book Fair, World Trade Center, Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City, last August 31, from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon.

Mr. Dennis S. Ycasiano—the guest speaker and a consultant who has developed and implemented training programs for Citibank, Pepsi Cola, Shell and Colgate, and other companies in Southeast Asia—differentiated between leaders and managers, but emphasized that librarians need to be leaders and managers; maintaining the status quo is important, but it also needs to be questioned.

'The Leadership Challenge'
This sounds very interesting. I am very pleased that Filipino Librarians are going out to attend such events that will help them be 'proactive' IPs (Information Professionals).

So what did the speaker say?

Did someone take notes during that event so others will know what you all learned and so we (those who were not able to attend) will also learn?

I am eager to hear someone's posting on this lecture. I am not looking for quantitative postings on this topic, I am actually looking for qualitative postings - some kind of a brief summary with a critique and how this lecture relates to all Filipino librarians.
(That allows some critical thinking to some of you, especially current UP MLS students).
